Papanicolaou Prize 2015

The Papanicolaou Prize competition 2015 took place at the Hellenic Centre on 15 May 2015.

Original research papers in the fields of medicine, biomedical sciences or related areas were presented. Shortlisted candidates gave a 10-minute presentation, followed by a 5-minute discussion.

The presentations were judged by a panel consisting of the President and President-elect of the HMS, and Prof. Angela Hassiotis, Professor of Psychiatry of Intellectual Disability at University College London who also gave a presentation on “Annual health checks for people with intellectual disability in primary care”.

The Papanicolaou Prize winner 2015 was:
• Dr Fotios Sampaziotis from the University of Cambridge.

The following researchers received Honorable Mention:
• Dr Sotirios Posporelis from the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and NeuroScience, King’s College London
• Dr Nicolina Skandali from the University of Cambridge
• Dr Sophia Theodoropoulou from Bristol University

The HMS would like to thank all researchers for their high quality submissions and participants to the event who made the evening such a stimulating opportunity for exchange of research ideas.
