Dear members and friends,
We are pleased to give you advance warning of our next event, the Vasilopita on Friday the 16th of January 2015 at 8pm at the Hellenic Centre, which is open to all. This will be preceded at 7pm by the Annual General Meeting, which is open to full paying members only.
We are going to be filling vacant places on the committee, including a student representative, and will hold an election if there are more candidates than places. We need to have formal nominations (with two members proposing), or expressions of potential interest, by the 19th of December 2014. Please email the HMS secretary, and copy to c.proukakis@ucl.ac.uk.
Nominations received later will only be considered if the committee places are not filled. We want to welcome enthusiastic people on board, so please consider joining if you are able to help.
Kind regards,
The HMS UK committee

ΚΕ.Σ.Υ. plans to develop a database consisting of the contact information of Greek expatriate scientists, which will be available on it’s website. In this way, a channel of communication will be established to enable scientists in Greece to explore opportunities abroad as well as expatriate scientists to further support the scientific community in Greece. They invite all the expatriate medical workforce to declare their availability and willingness to be contacted by and collaborate with individuals as well as scientific organisations in Greece
Using a realistic but imaginative approach, the objective of the initiative is to bring high quality human capital of the country together and to create collaboration links between them. This networking of Greeks can strengthen the growth prospects of the country and ensure that participating Greeks become part of a joint endeavour.
